I am Cindy Allen. I started my business out of necessity. At the end of 2009 I had lost it all; job, home, relationship, etc… It was like everything collapsed at once. I had never felt as if all the doors in my world had so thoroughly closed.
One night, November 7, 2009, I had a choice to seek emergency shelter or point my car out of state to move in with family. I did neither. Through a series of events I still don’t quite believe, I found myself in a beautiful home vowing to do whatever it took to stay, started a business, closed my mind off to any possibility other than making it work, it grew, it branched and here I am! Three and a half years later I have five part time employees, a packed schedule and great plans for more. The best part is, I really, really love my life.
Today, I wake up with joy. I feel boundless gratitude for my life and the people I am privileged to serve. I love my work and make a conscious effort to spread some light while I do it. I never forget that on one particular day I thought all was lost. I thought my time had passed. I was frightened, defeated and didn’t know how I was going to survive.
